With the growing digitisation of the international economy, greater importance is given to information authentication services that can ensure transactions carried out digitally are secure and reliable. In recognition of this, MERCOSUR Member States reached, in 2019, an Agreement on Mutual Recognition of Digital Signature Certificates establishing an international standard for digital signatures within the block, with the possibility of other States and economic blocks joining as well. The Consulate General of Brazil in Sydney and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), in coordination with the Embassy of Brazil in Canberra, have launched a series of webinars organized to present the potential opportunities for cooperation in technology-intensive sectors such as ag-tech and fintech, to be held June 16 to 18.
