The Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA) has launched the Observatory of Brazilian Agriculture – a public online database that aims at improving access and monitoring of data and information on the performance of the agricultural sector. The platform also seeks to provide innovative solutions of information and communication technology in order to support decision-making processes by policy makers, private sector entities and civil society. The Observatory offers data on the main agricultural activities output, weather forecasts, rural credit, fishing and georeferenced images of the Brazilian rural area, amongst others.
