The Latin American Film Festival (LAFF) is an initiative of the Latin American Embassies in Australia to showcase their culture and film industry. The Embassies of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela have partnered once again to bring the biggest festival of its kind to cities throughout the country. Australia's Special Representative of Agriculture, Su McCluskey, has visited the president of the Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil (CNA), João Martins, in Brasília. Talks centred on the responsibility of the two countries to help guarantee the world's food security and sustainability in the agricultural sector.

The Great Eastern Abattoir is a sheep processing facility near Tammin, about two hours from Perth. The Shark Lake facility near Esperance processes sheep and beef.
