Brisbane’s ‘Brazil Week’ to showcase cultural, business and institutional links this September

The inaugural edition of ‘Brazil Week’ in Brisbane will be held from the 1st to the 8th of September, 2022.  

Timed to align with Brazil’s 200th Anniversary of Independence from Portugal, on the 7th of September, 2022, Brazil Week will showcase a wide range of the country’s cultural traditions, institutional links with Australia and trade opportunities across a series of events and exhibitions. These include:

• A VIP cocktail event at Brisbane City Council to launch Brazil Week on Thursday, 1st of September
• A Business Forum on Friday 2nd of September exploring strategic Net Zero 2050 opportunities between Brazil and Australia
• A Fashion Show on Saturday 3rd of September  featuring Brazilian brands of clothing, footwear and jewellery, with the event to conclude with Brisbane Festival's magnificent Riverfire 
• A Film Night on Tuesday 6th of September, showcasing a Brazilian Movie with English subtitles and a Q&A with Brazilian Actor Nelson Freitas 
• A Two Hundred Years of Independence "Night in Brazil" dinner at Navala Churrascaria on the 7th of September
  

Valeria Noleto, Honorary Consul of Brazil in Brisbane and CEO of the Australia Brazil Chamber of Commerce (ABCC), which has been integral in developing this project, said the inaugural Brazil Week has the all the makings of an important new annual event for Australia Brazil relations.
